I had the longest time trying to get my Xbox to connect to the 5ghz. Turns out I needed a newer modem. Once I replaced it (infinity xb3 to xb6) I haven't had any issues at all. Just a heads up for knowledge modems have nothing to do with wifi connection issus. or are those modem/router combos that you mentioned? Google Xbox one x with Comcast xb3.
