Just downloading the Netgear firmware update by itself & updating it does not remove the DD WRT Regards I have the Netgear WNDR 3700 v2 with the Gargoyle firmware that I installed on it a while ago. I am now interested in trying the DD-WRT firmware but not sure how to install it or if it is even possible considering I am not on the stock firmware.
A Netgear WNDR3700 which is bridged to the N network and provides yet another G network. Our TV is also connected to this box so it can talk to our media server. All of these devices are fantastic. I have never needed to reset any of them (yes, never). They just work all the time.

DD-WRT is a good idea for old routers that lack functionality, but the WNDR3700 doesn't fall into that category. The things is doesn't do, DD-WRT doesn't do particularly well either. Fortunately, this router is compatible with DD-WRT. After reading DD-WRT's on-line documentation, I was able to replace Netgear's firmware with DD-WRT in an easy to follow, ten minutes, two-stage process. It is now faster, properly in sync with global NTP servers, and there are waaaaaaaay more features you can control.
